Costa Rican ID Card (Cédula)
The Costa Rican identity card is the main identification document for Costa Ricans. As such, your ID Card is required for any undertaking at the Consulate.
Processing Time: Please take into consideration that renewal appointment in the Consulate can last up to an hour. Once we receive your application we will send it to the Civil Registry of Costa Rica for processing.

The identity card may take up to three months to be sent back to the Consulate where you submitted the application. The ID Card may ONLY be collected in person by the owner.
